Arrive on Time

We were up at 4:30, the airport at 5:30 for 7-am flight, everything went off without a hitch. Arrived in Liberia at 7:30pm. We got the rental van, checked into the house and now half of the party went on a grocery run. Its been raining tonight and the bugs are out...giant beetles everywhere! Girls are freaked by the the bugs...

Everyone is getting situated tonight, we are staying in the room off the entry way. Roberts and Baileys in the upstairs bedrooms, Moorheads in the bedroom off the kitchen and the Sharps in the cool Casita out back. Its a very warm night, going for a swim!

Russ, Dave, Doak just returned from town on a grocery run, we are putting it all away. Im having a cuba libre and still contemplating the swim. Its pitch black outside, the house is on top of a hill over looking the ocean, theres a light rain falling. Smells tropical, very humid.

Hope to post photos tomorrow!

Rock Climbing in Cost Rica

After a busy tour of the deep canyons via the ziplines it was time to climb out of the canyon. The climb out was an easy 45 feet, looking down was the hardest part.

Tubing Adventure

We went tubing down the Rio Negra river, the river was narrow and more like a fast moving creek. The Canyon walls were deep and it was strewn with huge boulders. There was a water fall near the put in point, it was great fun...hint, don't go barefooted, there are sharp rocks. Its hot in the canyon bring water.

Playa Hermosa

Hermosa beach has volanic sand, with gentle waves and a mile long beach. We spent the day picnicing there and playing in the surf.

Playa Hermosa

Playa Hermosa is a gently curving and tranquil gray-sand beach that stretches for about a mile. Although its just a few miles from Playa del Coco, Hermosa is still a sleepy with a few beach resturants, shops and a store. Theres a couple of cool resturants like Pescade Loco, that serves Costa Rican fare, excellent seafood like red snapper and civich and also pupo de gallego.
On this Thursday afternoon two years ago, Val Roberts and Scott Hatter stroll down Hermosa Beach at sunset, both trying to coax Dave Roberts to join us for dinner.

Five Boise Couples Travel to Costa Rica
Boise--Five Boise Couples from the Boise Racquet and Swim Club are making a trip to the Central American Country, Costa Rica on April 30th, 2010. Three of the couples, the Baileys, the Roberts and the Putnams made the trip two years ago. The Sharps, and the Moorheads will make their first trip to the Country.

Planning for the trip began back in November of 2009, when the couples set out to bid on the trip at the annual auction. The Anderson House was booked so a suitable rental was found just a half mile away at Hermosa. The first trip was booked at Dean Anderson's villa in Octoval outside of Coco in Guancaste. The area is tropical yet dry, its green but there's also a lot of cactus. April is a transition month, between the rainy and dry seasons. Temperatures reach the high 80s and 90 every day buts it a dry heat compared to the Caribbean side of the country.
